Jeff Yard

After over 25 years working in the City of London, I wanted a change of career. My son experienced some dyslexic type difficulties and seeing how he was taught by a dyslexia specialist inspired me to pursue this vocation in order to help others.

For the last 5 years I have been gaining experience and qualifications in teaching and assessing students with dyslexia. I have recently (2011) passed the SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties) Diploma for teaching and assessing.

Currently I work for the University of Kent as a study skills advisor for students who are entitled to help in accordance with their DSA (Disabled Students Allowance). In addition, I work for a local primary school which involves 1:1 tuition and diagnostic assessments. I also do some private 1:1 tuition.

I am qualified to administer DSA tests, access arrangement testing and diagnostic assessments.
